In remote parts of Australia and on some of our coastal islands, a mains power grid doesn’t exist and diesel generation is the only form of power supply on offer. Diesel generation was an accepted method of power in the past, but we’re now seeing entire communities utilise the power and efficiency of solar energy to provide themselves with cost-effective and clean power. We have only very recently completed a large project that has done just this. Australian Agricultural Company (AACo) has numerous cattle stations across Australia that currently rely purely on diesel generation for their electricity supply. AACo has recently embarked on a program that will see these diesel generators phased out and replaced with sustainable renewable energy solutions. Infinity Solar is extremely proud to be working with such an iconic Australian company to provide them with turn-key solutions in some of the most remote locations in Australia.
Another part of the world that keeps us busy providing off-grid systems is Fraser Island. It’s not only the largest sand island in the world but it also has more off-grid solar systems requiring maintenance than any other off-grid community in Australia. One of our most experienced off-grid electricians, Rick Poulter, is based in Hervey Bay and spends a good part of his year enjoying the delights of Fraser and breathing new life into old off-grid systems.
