Andrew Haddow – Shop Manager

Andrew moved from South Australia to Cairns in 1994. A retail manager for 20 years, he decided to make a change for the better and join the Renewable Energy industry in early 2008, setting up and managing the residential grid-connect solar program for Ergon Energy statewide. Andrew joined the Infinity Solar team in early 2010 bringing knowledge from both the solar and energy usage side of the business.

Dion Rayner

Dion grew up on a dairy farm at Topaz on the Atherton Tablelands, Far North Queensland. He worked in the dairy industry for around 10 years after leaving school before moving to South East Queensland and working in the Rural Retail sector for 4 years. He joined the solar industry after purchasing a system from Infinity Solar in 2008 and is now the proud owner of a 2.1kW roof mounted Mono system, 6kW ground mounted Thin film system and 1.9kW roof mounted Thin film system.

Peter Thorpe

Peter has spent most of his life in Far North Queensland - primarily Cairns, Thursday Island and Charters Towers - and loves all it has to offer from the sun and beaches to the country areas and great people. Having spent most of his life in retail, Peter moved to Infinity Solar in 2010. He has a 5KW German solar power system on his own roof and is only too happy to share the positive benefits the he and his family gained from going solar.

I recently learnt why price should not be the main motivator when purchasing a solar power system and why Infinity Solar is my choice.
In 2010 I was looking to install a standalone solar power system for a rural property that I had recently purchased. After many months of research and countless phone calls to companies around Australia I came across a great company by the name of Infinity Solar. Adrian Decarli and his team designed me a 5KW battery back-up system and took the time to explain how the system would work, the rebates I would receive and why they believed that the components they recommended were the best to use.
Adrian’s team installed this system at my property in early 2011. The installers were fantastic and even offered to update the power board and install a few power points to get us going. And the system has not missed a beat since!
After this experience I caught the ‘Solar Power Bug’ and decided to look at installing a feed-in system at my principle place of residence as well. Naturally I spoke to Adrian first to see what deal he could give me. He designed a 5KW feed in system for my house and also a smaller system for my Dad’s place. The price was good and the components were from reputable suppliers however I decided to get some quotes from a few other solar companies just to check I was getting a good deal. This is where I went wrong.
One of the other companies I spoke to dazzled me with their slick marketing presentation and offered me a price that was several thousand dollars less than what Infinity Solar could match. So I went with them because they were cheaper. And yes you guessed it - less than 12 months later this other company were out of business and I was left with a faulty inverter with a warranty that was not worth the paper it was written on.
So with my tail between my legs, I called Adrian once more to see if he could dig me out of the mess I had created. And of course he did! There is a good reason why Adrian and his team are still in business and that is a good reason to go with them.

I wish to inform you how pleased I am having Infinity Solar Cairns provide the Solar Array System to me, right from the outset my negotiations with you have been productive and hassle free, you have answered all my queries, provided evidence to support your claims and nothing was ever to much for you, you were professional, always accessible on the phone and on email and always returned my calls, for that I want to say “Thank You”.

I would like to make a special mention to the installation team that came up from Brisbane to do the installation on the 1st June 2012, as you know I was very nervous about getting Solar Panels fitted on my roof as I have roof tiles and this concerned me as I know how difficult it can be compared to a corrugated iron roof. The team that did the installation were Andrew Lyall, Greg Hutcheson and Steve Blundell, they arrived on time , were polite and professional and carried out their work to a high standard, the installation was a difficult one with lots of drilling and anchor bolts having to be fitted through the tiles into the batons below, any damage to the tiles was kept to a minimum with only one tile needing replacing which may have had a pre existing fault in it.

When Ergon came to do their final connection and inspection, they made special reference to how neat the Inverter and switches were mounted on the wall and stated that it was very professionally set out compared to some other installers they had inspected in the past, I believe Steve Blundell was the installer who did most of the work setting up the inverter under the guidance of Andrew Lyall.
I am a firm believer that people need to be recognised and acknowledged for their work and I have no hesitation in recommending Infinity Solar Cairns and their crews for any awards relevant to their work ethics and high standard of workmanship.
